Introduction to ATN Technology

Unlike so many programs and products that promise weight loss, ATN is not based on a quick fix nor an over simplistic solution. I understand and honor weight difficulty for the VERY complex set of issues that it truly is. There is no such thing as a simple solution to a complex problem.

Consequently, I systematically train my clients in the complex set of skills, attitudes, understandings and behaviors that will effect the self changes necessary to achieve what they really want...not just weight loss but weight loss along with the maintenance of that weight loss for the rest of their life with relative ease while living in the real world. Any result shy of this result reflects incomplete training.

The Three Arenas of Mastery

Anything less than a precise and comprehensive program capable of teaching mastery similar to that of a black belt in martial arts will ultimately result in weight regain. History has proven the truth in this statement.

The ATN system teaches mastery in three essential areas:

Thought
Knowledge
Behvaior


The "Program"

Ironically, there is no "program" as a "program" is typicaly conceptualized. A "program" is a set of hard and fast rules that you aren't supposed to ever deviate from. The "program" is the highest good. If you're "on" the "program," you're "good." If you're "off" the "program;" you're "bad." Can the requirement of such perfection ever work to help you generate the long term results you REALLY want? NO!!

ATN technology teaches timeless principles, not an inflexible, ultimately useless "program." These principles illuminate for you the "rules" that can't be broken... the same "rules" that the weight loss industry has been "breaking its patrons against" for years. Within the context of these timeless principles, a multi-faceted routine is built that is customized to fit each client's needs, preferences, and lifestyle.

ATN Principle #1: Create a Healthy Body
A healthy body won't have symptoms (including weight difficulty, food cravings, PMS, fatigue, headache, etc). Therefor... the task becomes to return the body to a state of health. Additionally, we must do nothing to harm you health through your weight loss process. This is why sleep pattern can be critically important in the milleau of issues that impact weight difficulty. This is also why the ephedrine based products were doomed from the beginning; they negatively effected the overall health of the body.

ATN Principle #2: Calories Do Count
Weight management is ultimately a calorie issue. If we take in more calories than we burn, we gain weight. If we take in less calories than we burn we lose weight. If we take in the same number of calories that we burn, our weight remains the same.

ATN Principle #3: Understand Your Body
Optimal blood sugar and insulin function is essential to successful long term weight management. Eratic blood sugar and the consequent high level of insulin "trips the fat storage switch" in the body so that calories that would otherwise be burned are stored.

ATN Principle #4: Change Your Mind; Change Your Body
We cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it. By definition, someone who desires to correct a weight problem (for life) must evolve who he/she brings to the task. The thought process must be shifted; there must be an evolution on a psychological level.

ATN Principle #5: If Nothing Gets Re-Prioritized, Nothing Changes
Learning anything new requires prioritizing that issue in life. This means "de-prioritizing" other issues, at least some of the time. This also means the commitment of resources (time, money and energy) to the process of learning health and weight management. We know what each other's priorities are; we simply look at what time, money and energy is spent on. If someone is driving a relatively expensive car but claims there's no money to spend on health coaching … we know where that person's priorities are. The car they drive is more important than the body they live in.

ATN Principle #6: Consistency, Not Perfection
Traditional programs assume that you will be able to follow their recommendations without deviation from the time you start until the time you die. These programs are NOT sophisticated enough to help you understand that you don't have to do any program perfectly, but you do have to make "enough changes, enough of the time." Our program facilitates the understanding of just what this threshold is for you (what you can get away with and what you can't. It also teaches you the art of course correction, where the rubber meets the road, so to speak.
